 KNOW THE DIMENSION STONES
  Sawing in Chiseling Machines

Chiseling machines are sawing equipment with diamond discs, enabled to cut in great depth, whose greatest use is standardized products (tiles). The equipment with diamond disks, enabled to flatter cuts are called cut-plates and very used in the marble shops.

There are basically three types of block chiseling machines:

-  Monodisk, for great diameter cuts;

- Monoaxis/multidisks, for disks of same diameter, or two different diameters; and

-  Multiaxis/multidisks, with disks of increasing diameter placed on line.

The most modern chiseling machines, as well the Italian ones (monoaxis) as the German ones (multiaxis), present an average productivity in terms of square and cubic meters 10% superior than the loom.

The monthly productivity in square meters is also superior to the loom (50% 100% higher), allowing exploitation of first quality materials in smaller blocks, that would not be exported, (in case of Brazil) because of the shipping freight cost, and they would still be not economical on the looms.

Another advantage of the chiseling machine is that this equipment admits axis movement in several different angles (from vertical to horizontal line), therefore allowing different forms of processing the material. The average cost of production in chiseling machines is however slightly superior to the loom’s, because of the price of equipment, and over all for the price of the diamond disks. Moreover, the chiseling machines do not allow the sawing of large plates, such as the type “cut to size”, especially for some projects.
